Read the scenario below where a child's rights were violated. Use the scenario to answer the questions below.

A child named Maria, aged 10, lives in a small rural village with her parents and younger sister. Maria's parents work as farmers and are often busy with their work. They do not pay much attention to their children's education or well-being. Maria has never been to school and spends her days helping her parents with farming chores.

  7. Maria has the right to go to school and to express her thoughts and ideas. If someone notices that she is not going to school or seems sad, they should tell an adult who can help. The adult might need to talk to an agency that helps children to make sure Maria is safe and can get the help she needs. Persons who are aware of this should comfort her.
